Original Mixed Media (Watercolour and Gouache) Painting by Robert Mee
Enveloped in a soft downpour, the bustling energy of Manhattan dissolves into a shimmering dance of light and shadow. iconic yellow taxis navigate wet, gleaming avenues, their warm glow bleeding into the slick asphalt beneath umbrella-bearing pedestrians. Towering skyscrapers loom softly through a hazy grey wash, punctuated by rich bursts of crimson, electric cyan, and neon reflection. Painted with loose, wet-on-wet watercolor washes and expressive texture, this piece captures the cinematic romance and atmospheric solitude of New York City on a rainy day.
